sorrow blindness
There are times and events in our lives that cause us to go into a deep stupor…not the usual I will make it through this happening or the you just pissed me off today type of thing.
We’re talking the real I don’t know if I will make it through this stuff, life changing occurrences.
The type of situation or situations that feel like they will be there forever. The type of stuff that won’t let you or I go. We know the scriptures that we have studied. We know that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, but in the meantime God what do we do because it looks like this one is prospering?
- Do we sit and wait patiently for you to prove your faithfulness again?
- Do we rise up in battle as David did against the Philistines?
- Is it a season of prayer and intercession for another that has wronged me?
- Is there something that has to be broken in me and at the collapse of that thing you will release me from this present state?
- Or is this one of those Paulian situations where I have found my thorn in the flesh?
- Tell me God where am I in the Spirit, because in the natural I’m in Hurtville!!
MOST SORROW DEVASTATION CAN BE AVOIDED BY COMMUNICATION
If we do not grow as believers and become good communicators, we will become sorrow causers, especially those of us that are graced to be prophets.
Jesus understood tough times and sorrow and constantly trained and groomed His team on handling tough times. (Matthew 10) He trained from the beginning about things like…
- an accurate message not being received and how to handle it emotionally
- ministering to people that would not be trust-worthy
- working with the Holy Ghost during tough times
- family situations falling apart but staying on purpose
- how unglamorous the calling of ministry really is and to expect persecution and how to deal with it
- being prepared for Christian Martyrdom and how to handle one’s mouth during times of persecution
- how the true blessing of God is really on those “persecuted for righteousness”
He teaches them that there is no separation between good times and running into sorrow or even death somewhere down the line. Truth be told God allows everything He loves to die at least once. Jesus teaches them something that we have lost today in ministry, “cross focus.”
JESUS TRAINED HIS DISCIPLES TO “STAY FOCUSED” NO MATTER THE SORROWS of LIFE
Jesus took the time to let His disciples know that ministry was not going to always be rosy and clapping crowds, dinners and connections. He clearly tells all those that He is to release in ministry to “pick up your cross and follow me.”
Tough times will come but how well did you listen to what Jesus has taught you by the Holy Ghost in times of study and when you are sitting in the presence of his chosen preaching gift in your life.
It is wise that we pay closer attention to the scriptures and to the preaching of our grace gifts. (Ephesians 4)
DON’T MISS YOUR VICTORY OVER A SORROW

Victory is ordained for you if you can stay in the WILL OF GOD AND STAY OUT OF OFFENCE.
SORROW PRAYER
God forgive me for behaving myself wrong in certain situations with others. God help me to understand that Christianity is not about not having problems or problem people in my life, but Christianity is about learning how to handle all of those situations properly.
Help me Holy Spirit to apply the scriptures on relationships and life’s sorrows so I can please the Father. This I ask in the name of your son, Jesus the Christ.
Matthew 7:21-27
(21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
(22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
(23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
(24) Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
(25) And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
(26) And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
